Velvet Jewelry Display Box Options

By Patricia Hall

Anyone who loves jewelry of any kind knows that pieces tend to accumulate over the years. Earrings, bracelets or other accessories are received as gifts or to match a particular occasion. To avoid the loss or damage of beloved pieces, velvet jewelry display box storage is the solution to show off your accessories and keep them free of damage. The cases can be placed easily in a drawer or on a table top to show them off.

Sorting items to play in a case can be done in various ways. You might want to keep your accessories for a night at symphony concert in a different place than where you would keep pieces suitable for wearing to a sport event or a trip to the park. Some wearers may want to sort items by the type of item. Keeping earrings in one compartment and pendants in another makes keeping both types of jewelry easy and convenient. You might have designer pieces as well as some costume pieces which can be sorted separately.

The interior surface of the box may consist of different grades of velvet. In addition to the cloth surface, the design of the case can vary significantly and still be considered a display unit. Some cases have a clear lid. The cloth can come in various colors, although a black or dark blue sets off the sparkle of the jewels and precious metals in a special way.

Many cases are constructed of wood, but that is not the only material which is used in the designs of the best cases. Velvet or plush velvet is used for the interior, but the exterior may be stained exotic woods, or may be painted. Other construction materials can be plastics, metal or even glass.

Within the boundaries of the box, there can be a range of features. Some display cases have a grid pattern which divides it into small sections. A small item or pair of items, such as earrings, could be placed in each compartment. If your collection of pieces includes clip on earrings, the case which features bars or rings which hold the items securely. Finding both parts of a pair is easy when they are clipped together on a bar or tine.

The size of the display is another characteristic to think about. If your jewelry collection is sizable, you will want a case which is large enough to hold all the pieces conveniently. Otherwise, you could purchase multiple cases to sort large collections easily. Smaller cases may be perfect if you only have a few pieces and don't plan to expand your collection any time soon.

Sometimes there is not much room on a counter or bureau to place a display case. In this instance, you could choose a design which will stack easily. Various sorted components of your collection can be placed in display trays which are stacked, one atop the next. This design means that only a small footprint is required to store multiple jewelry pieces.

Although display boxes are designed to be attractive, they must also be functional in order to help you manage your jewelry collection. The boxes come in many styles and colors, as well as many different sizes. The options which are available are also matched with the personal preferences of owners.
