The Backstory Of The Famous Luis Onofre

For many years, the brand of Luis Onofre has been a very well known one in many countries in the west. Well known in France, Germany, Italy, US, Canada, and many other countries around the world, this brand has cemented its image as one of the top footwear brands around the world. While it is such a big name though, not many people know its humble beginnings.

The company first started out as a small one founded by an old lady during the late thirties. The old lady who opened the company was actually the grandmother of the very famous founder, mister Onofre. It was during the year of 1990 that he was the one who assumed the ownership of the company and turned it around to the big company it is known as today.

After the launch of the company, it then escalated its image in the year 1999 by presenting its collections to several fashion shows. In fact, their first big collection was in Barcelona Fashion Cafe and Madrid ModaCalzado. After that, things started to look up for the company as in 2001, they were able to launch their collection in a Portuguese Fashion show in Paris. Eventually, a 2001 Summer Collection was showcased as a special edition collection.

After that, the year 2003 was a big year for this company wherein they showcased a big collection in the Micam fair in Italy. In fact, this lead them to always showcase new collections in this location every year. In 2009, more and more collections were made from the production and development team. In fact, a lot of other footwear brands were in partnership with this brand. Some of them include Jimmy Choo, Anna dello Russo, Isabel Marant, and Marni.

As the company reached the year 2010, this company was able to make its first online store. However, the store was only available in Spain, Netherlands, and Portugal. Eventually, this company was invited to the well known fashion exhibit which is the Swarovski Boulevard fashion show for a new collection.

Sometime in 2012, they were able to receive an award for the Best Design Accessories given by the Portugal Fashion Awards. This award was able to make the brand really skyrocket and escalate its fame. In fact, a lot of very famous people such as Paris Hilton and Michelle Obama were very much interested in wearing shoes from the collection.

Another interesting year for the company was in 2014 when the first full store opened up in Lisbon. A medal was also awarded to the company for its vast contribution to the city. The award was presented by the mayor of Lisbon himself which was considered a big honor for the brand image of the company.

Up until today, this company is very strong and aims to go for more expansions by opening up more stores in different places where they see have a high demand. In fact, 2016 saw the launch of the first worldwide online store where all countries could start shopping. Aside from that, 2017 saw the opening of a new store in the city of Porto.
